Automated Capacity Resolution

RockSolid can automatically resolve most database reactive capacity related issues. RockSolid can be enabled to carry out standard DBA tasks to improve capacity, such as shrinking data files, removing old database backups, moving data files and adding data files on alternative partitions.

Backup Issue Resolution

RockSolid can be configured to automatically carry out reactive resolution to ensure that a database backup is successfully taken. These tasks include allowing backups to re-run outside the backup window, allowing RockSolid to reduce the retention requirement if capacity is low and allowing RockSolid to backup to an alternative location if the primary location is unavailable.

Automated Resolution Process

RockSolid has all the common DBA activities defined within its automated resolution functionality. These activities are then associated through a workflow process for each type of issue requiring resolution. Each activity involved in the resolution path can be selectively enabled by the DBA to ensure only the authorized resolution steps are carried out automatically.
