RockSolid Comms Overview

RockSolid Communications is functionality for ensuring that all the right people have the right information in a timely manner. This includes ensuring the DBA team has relevant data on hand to resolve issues, and also ensuring that relevant people of your user community are informed of activities occurring from a database management perspective.


Issue Transfer Reports

When an issue is escalated by RockSolid to DBA an Issue Transfer Report is provided. This report contains all the relevant information related to that event so the DBA can begin to resolve immediately. These reports are customized for each time of issue and enhanced based on real-world DBA feedback.

SMS Interaction

RockSolid provides two-way communications with the DBA team via SMS. This allows issues to be accepted and assigned and certain information to be gathered by the DBA while out of the office on their mobile phone. Note, this mode of communications is security controlled and certain functions require several layers of authorization including PIN.

Automated Notifications

RockSolid reduces the time involved in communication with database users. Automatic notifications can be configured for selected users for selected events, these notifications delivered via email or SMS. These notifications may be related to a system wide event, such as low disk space, or a more specific event such as a SQL Agent job failure. Automatic notifications may be used to, for example, alert a site helpdesk if a database is unavailable.
