SQL Server 2008 R2 Approaches End of Life

published: 2018-07-26 12:26

Just a reminder that the official end of life support for SQL Server 2008 R2 is now less than 12 months away. Any customers who are still running this version of SQL Server are reminded that it is time to start to think about transition plans. There are a lot of considerations now in terms of where you go with SQL Server, so it is wise to leave yourself time to work through the alternatives.

The DXC RockSolid SQL team has a lot of experience migrating from SQL Server 2008 to newer versions, such as SQL Server 2017 but also combining a version upgrade with cloud migration to Azure or AWS. Please feel free to discuss the need for assistance in this area with your SDM.
